Tom Dixon, MELT lighting

One of the eye catcher’s shown during Milan’s latest Salone del Mobile 2015 is the Melt Collection. A beautiful range of blown-glass pendant lights by Tom Dixon, developed in collaboration with Swedish design collective FRONT. The distorted globes are the finishing point of experiments in the technologically advanced field of vacuum metallization. Each piece appears unique, is translucent when on and mirror-finish when off. Available in copper, chrome and gold-coloured finish, they all emit an attractive and mildly hallucinogenic light.

StokkeAustad Acoustic Patch Panels

The Oslo-based design studio StokkeAustad created a series of colourful acoustic panels, combining textiles with a selection of shinier materials. Elements of mirror, polished brass and Norwegian stone. The variation of materials being used, sets up unexpected geometric patterns which almost tend to look like paintings.
