Over the past decade, China has become a place of dramatic transformation and rapid expansion. Former agricultural villages are now mega-cities, and the mega-cities of old, they too keep expanding to support the country’s increasingly wealthy population. A prime example of that continuous expansion is the exclusive Shanghai housing project, a project that we’re most proud to participate in.
British-style luxury in a Chinese mega-city
198. That’s the staggering amount of residences that are being built in this brand new neighborhood, situated in the Dahonggiao Area. 198 villas and one Club House to be precise – all styled to recall a historic British grandeur. After having worked with the developer on a previous project in Hong Kong, Metalfire was called in to reaffirm this luxurious allure with its architectural fireplaces.
Seven Metalfire fireplaces bring Belgium to China
In total, Metalfire was asked to supply seven gas-burning fireplaces: three for the Club House, with a fireplace in the cigar room, the lounge and at the swimming pool, and one in four separate model homes. The residences, the Club House, as well as the interior of the Club House and two model homes were drawn by Steve Leung; Tara Bernerd & Partners from London designed the interior of another model home where Metalfire supplied a fireplace. In all, we are proud to have played our part in a project of this magnitude, with high-profile designers bringing the romance of historic Britain to a Chinese mega-city.
